This blog was written for a medical client that practices interventional radiology. They recently added a neurovascular specialist to their team and now offer cutting-edge nonsurgical neurovascular treatments. This particular blog focused on brain aneurysms and the several nonsurgical treatment options they offer, including endovascular coiling and pipeline embolization. I spent several hours independently researching brain aneurysms and these advanced treatments in order to break down this complex topic into digestible language for the layman.

Portland’s Neurovascular Experts
I wrote this blog as a brief introduction to the topic of neurovascular radiology for a Portland-based client who recently added a neurovascular specialist to their practice. The main goal of the blog was to provide an overlay of the types of treatments they offer in a casual voice with easily understandable language for a wide audience. Developing this blog required hours of research and note-taking so that I could develop a strong foundation of knowledge about the topic before I began writing.
What Is Interventional Oncology and Is It Right for Me?
This particular client wished to market the minimally invasive treatment options they offer for treating liver cancer. The goal of this blog was to present and break down each of the advanced procedures they perform to give a general overview of their services. Developing the right voice for this piece of content required balancing clinical and informative language with a sympathetic and compassionate tone.
2019 Reader’s Choice Awards Press Release
A medical client I routinely write for was recently awarded two awards by their local newspaper and required a press release on short notice. This content is set to be published in their local paper as an acknowledgement of their achievements and a thank you to their community. Writing this type of content meant deviating from the standard content I typically create and stepping a bit out of my comfort zone. I enjoyed the change in pace and the client was thrilled with the result.
Botox Treatments
As a medical copywriter for a company that specializes in marketing cosmetic medicine, I have written extensively about Botox treatments and other anti-aging therapies. As a result, I have grown very comfortable operating in this niche of the medical community and writing about these sorts of topics. This client, however, has a rather unique voice and specifically requested that I maintain their friendly, light-hearted but also professional tone throughout their content. Writing in someone else’s voice can be a challenging but rewarding experience, and I’m proud that the client absolutely loved the final result.
EMSCULPT Lander
This piece of content is an example of one of the many landing pages I have written about noninvasive medical devices. Writing this type of content necessitates a slight change in voice compared to the typical medical content I create. Landing pages have less content real estate than traditional blogs or webpages and require a stronger call to action in order to capitalize on a less content-heavy page. While much of the content I write in the realm of cosmetic medicine prioritizes an informative tone, I focus on catchier and more direct language when writing a successful landing page.
DUI Arrest / DUI Lawyer
While working as a copywriter at Incredible Marketing chiefly involves writing within the sphere of cosmetic medicine, I occasionally receive writing topics that are completely unrelated and can be a nice break from the pace. This client is an attorney based in Rhode Island who needed a page added to his site about DUI arrests and building a legal defense. I was able to draw upon my experience working in state legislature when researching this particular topic and successfully match the voice of the content to the rest of the client’s site.
Distracted Driving and Texting While Driving
For this piece of content, I was tasked with adding a new page to an attorney’s website regarding an upcoming piece of legislation that would ban distracted driving. Our client wanted to get on top of the situation by expanding his website to accommodate future clients who would require representation once the new laws were enacted, as well as draw in curious citizens interested in learning more about the updated legislation.
Journal of the Senate
The Minnesota Senate Journal is the official historic documentation of the Minnesota Senate’s proceedings. As the assistant editor in the production office of the Minnesota Senate, I contributed toward painstakingly copyediting and polishing every iteration of the Senate Journal during the 2017 Senate session. I spent hours on a daily basis poring over the dense legalese of new state bills, amendments and Senate actions to guarantee error-free language and proper punctuation. While this particular example spans only 12 pages, the Senate Journal could easily reach over 1,000 pages when including omnibus bills and other large pieces of legislation.
Senate Agenda
The Senate Agenda collects the 13 Orders of Business conducted by Minnesota senators during legislative sessions. As the assistant editor for the Minnesota Senate Journal office during the 2017 Senate session, compiling and copyediting the Senate Agenda was one of my main responsibilities. The completed document was circulated to every Minnesota senator and placed online for public use once it left our office, making my ability to ensure complete accuracy and grammatical perfection critically important. Here is an example of one of the many Senate Agendas I created, which could span from just a few pages to a few dozen depending on the day.
